Services We Offer

Expert ConsultationArizona Digestive Health physicians are some of the most respected names in the Arizona gastroenterology community. Our staff is committed to providing you with an outstanding level of care through thoughtful and comprehensive consultations, and the most advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures available. We work closely with your other physicians, our board certified pathologists and state-of-the-art anatomic pathology laboratory, and ten affiliated endoscopy centers across the Valley to provide accurate and convenient medical services for our patients.

Colonoscopy – Colonoscopy is recommended for all adults at age 50 (with average risk) for routine colon cancer screening, whereby a careful examination is performed to discover and remove polyps. This procedure, which is performed under conscious sedation, has many indications including unexplained diarrhea, rectal bleeding, a family history of colon cancer and constipation. This is routinely performed at one of our outpatient endoscopy centers or at the hospital.

Upper Endoscopy (EGD and Enteroscopy) – Upper endoscopy is performed to examine the esophagus, stomach and small bowel for abnormalities. This includes problems related to disorders of swallowing, abdominal pain, black stools, ulcer disease, and abdominal pain. This is routinely performed at one of our outpatient endoscopy centers or at the hospital.

Endoscopic Ultrasonography (EUS) – This procedure allows your physician to examine your esophageal and stomach linings, and the walls of your upper and lower gastrointestinal tract. With the help of an endoscope and an ultrasound probe, your physician will use sound waves to create visual images of your digestive tract. EUS can be used to diagnose conditions that may cause abdominal pain or abnormal weight loss, as well as examine known lumps or lesions.

Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopanctreatography (ERCP) – This procedure is performed by your physician at the hospital to examine your bile ducts (drainage tubes from the liver/gallbladder) and the pancreas. Tissue can be sampled during this examination if needed, and therapeutics may be required depending on your illness, such as the placement of a stent. This procedure is performed in the hospital.

Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy (PEG) tube placement – This procedure is typically reserved for those who are unable to tolerate oral nutrition due to an underlying illness. This procedure is performed in the hospital.

Wireless Bravo pH Monitoring – Using Upper Endoscopy (see above), a tiny device the size of a vitamin can be temporarily placed inside your esophagus to measure the pH (i.e. acidity) within your esophagus. This information helps with therapies and medicines to treat various symptoms.

Esophageal Manometery – This test is performed at the hospital to measure exactly how the esophagus swallows. This allows the physician to diagnose and treat any underlying esophageal disorders.

Capsule Endoscopy – After ingesting a tiny capsule the size of a vitamin, the physician is able to take thousands of pictures deep within your small bowel, which would normally be outside the reach of standard upper endoscope. This procedure is performed at one of our clinics.

Liver Biopsy – This test is performed by interventional radiologists at the hospital. Under ultrasound guidance, they are able to sample a tiny piece of the liver to help make a diagnosis of an underlying liver ailment.

Remicade® Infusion – Some of our clinics offer on-site Remicade® infusions for new and existing patients. For winter visitors with current/ongoing prescriptions, we are willing and able to meet this need for you.
